Summer Calendar of Events -Near THE COVE AT CELO MOUNTAIN

Plan your visit with THE COVE AT CELO MOUNTAIN around these favorite mountain activities.  Most are ongoing, but there are a few that are perennial favorites.

Of course, not even these wonderful events can best lying on a hammock on the porch of your Cabin at Celo, photographing wildlife in one of the lean-to's on the manicured hiking trails, relaxing by the trout ponds, enjoying a cookout at one of the 4 pocket parks, sharing stories around the campfires or fire pits with family or friends, relaxing and unwinding by the largest waterfall within this sanctuary setting, camping out with your children or grandchildren in the reserved area for homeowners...

Our special summer visit package for 3 days/2 nights at an historic B&B for $99, and a dining certificate to the nationally acclaimed ten-table Knife and Fork will allow you time to choose your home site, home, or cabin while getting to know our hometowns and the salt-of-the-earth people who live here.

Remember your favorite summer camp?...a beloved small hometown?...a simpler, slower lifestyle and time?...Remember when summer was magical?...It still is...Come back home...The mountains are beckoning.

Mother's Day Drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway - Near THE COVE AT CELO MOUNTAIN

One of the most calming, comforting and pleasurable experiences I have had is leisurely driving the Blue Ridge Parkway.  It is almost a spiritual encounter with nature.  I have known people fresh from extreme tragedies and crises who have experienced a tremendous relief and release of pressure from this beautiful drive.  I wish I could convey this to you through photos - from my iPhone, no less.  This is one life experience I would wish for everyone before leaving this earth.

This part of the Parkway begins off of 80 S in Yancey County (a State Scenic Highway and Top Motorcycle Ride), just south of THE COVE AT CELO MOUNTAIN (a premier gated community between Boone and Asheville), past Mt. Mitchell State Park (the highest peak east of the Mississippi), and on into Asheville.  We stopped off at the renowned Southern Highlands Craft Guild Folk Art Center located on the Parkway near Asheville.  Wild turkey, bear, deer, gorgeous rock tunnels, spectacular long-range views, lush blooming flowers and wonderful trees and rock formations make this America's Favorite Drive.  We ended the day at the award-winning Cúrate Bar de Tapas in Asheville (Best Chef, Best in WNC 2011, Diner's Choice Winner 2012 and 5/5 Star Rating Trip Advisor.com) with other COVE AT CELO MOUNTAIN owners.  A stop at The Chocolate Fetish (12 years named Best Chocolate Shop in WNC) was a must for Mother's Day gifts here and before putting the youngest generation back on a flight to Dallas...not a bad way to spend a Mother's Day weekend together.

Come make this celebrated drive on North Carolina's Blue Ridge Parkway, learn the technique behind the traditional arts and crafts of the Appalachians, taste the award-winning restaurants serving organic, local produce from farm-to-table, and experience the sanctuary setting captured within THE COVE AT CELO MOUNTAIN.
